Lenora B. Smith Elementary's Book Club, Radical Readers, competed against five other elementary schools in the Book Battle Semi-Finals on Thursday, February 5th. Melissa Aguiluz, Johnathan Dalmond, Latilya Delgado, Clarissah Tony, Danyeilah Snider and Tania Salazar made up the competition team. The book battle was intense covering two novels - The Girl Who Threw Butterflies and Chomp. Each team would be asked seven questions from each book with opportunities to "steal". The competition was fierce as the boys and girls from the other schools were prepared. In the end, though, Lenora B. Smith Elementary triumphed and will go on to compete in May against the other winning schools in the semi-finals series. We are so proud of these students for their love of reading and their excellent sportsmanship. A big thank you to Ms. Haber (team sponsor) who has dedicated countless hours and Ms. Glass (co-coach) for ensuring our students were ready! Next three books...here we come!!
