Earth Day is celebrated all over the world, and LBS celebrated along with them on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Mr. Harvey Stribling, Primary Reading Coach, did a read aloud on a book titled “TuTu Goes Green” by Tulani Thomas. In addition to the read aloud with comprehension checks, many grade levels completed Earth Day activities. Students in Kinder, led by Ms. Boursiquot, made bird feeders out of ice cream cones and seeds. Then they were placed all over the campus. Students also did an " I Heart the Earth" writing activity vowing what they will do to help perserve the Earth. Pre-Kinder students made Earth Day hats and learned to renew, reuse and recycle. This is a concept known well as our PreK students reuse household items to complete their weekly projects.
